Walmart pulls 'Impeach 45' gear after boycott threats

America's favorite Arkansas-based retail monopoly sunk to new lows this week after introducing --and later pulling-- its new line of 'Impeach 45' gear, which included onesies for babies because, sometimes, an infant just needs to #RESIST.

According to the Associated Press, the outcry from people who support the President of the United States sparked a #BoycottWalmart trend on Twitter as users expressed their distaste for the chain promoting the impeachment of President Trump.

Ryan Fournier, chairman of the group Students for Trump, was one of the first to discover Walmart was selling the clothing item, according to the International Business Times. He tweeted the following to the company...

"@walmart why are you selling Impeach 45 baby clothes on your website????? What kind of message are you trying to send? https://t.co/PwI4nCVAZx"

Old Glory is the company that was selling the “Impeach 45” apparel and it’s wasn't the only one. A quick search on Walmart.com revealed three other companies selling Trump impeachment merchandise.

According to an anonymous Walmart official, "These items were sold by third party sellers on our open marketplace, and were not offered directly by Walmart. We’re removing these types of items pending review of our marketplace policies."

Whether or not the retail giant knew about the items beforehand remains to be seen.
