This is actually a dessert you can make with just the first five ingredients on the list, but at Mimi's Place we throw in the pecans and marshmallows for good measure. I have even heard of recipies that call for shaved coconut as well, although that would be considered heresy at Mimi's Place.
If you are hosting family dinner for the holidays, you might plan on two big bowls full. It's just that good!
1(21 ounce) can cherry pie filling
1(14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
1(20 ounce) can crushed pineapple, drained
1(12 ounce) container frozen whipped topping, thawed
1(12 ounce) jar Maraschino cherries
1cup pecans, chopped (optional)
1cup small marshmallow(optional)
In a large bowl, mix together pie filling, sweetened condensed milk, crushed pineapple, and pecans. Fold in the whipped topping, and marshmallows (if desired). Top with cherries. Toss in coconut at your own risk!
Refrigerate until chilled.
Yum, yum!
