According to Charles House of the Sequoyah County sheriffs office, skeletal remains were found by two rabbit hunters over Christmas around the Lock and Dam area on the Arkansas River.
The remains have not been identified at this time but the sheriff's office, medical examiner and the OSBI’s District 27 task force have requested dental records of at least one missing person to help identify the remains.
House states the hunters came across what appeared to be human remains and law enforcement went to the site and after conducting a search, more remains were located.
No other information is available at this time.
