Sixth arrest in 2018 for convicted felon keeps jail doors revolving





A Fort Smith resident, who had already logged six previous arrests in 2018 in Sebastian County, got arrested on Sunday for his second charge involving an altercation with a family member in the past ten months.

Kevin Wayne Blakely, who was arrested by thee Barling Police Department and booked into the Sebastian County Detention Center at 1:50 a.m. Sunday morning, remained jail on Domestic Battering in the Third Degree - Purposely and Endangering the Welfare of a Minor in the Third Degree on a $1750 bond.

Blakeley was also arrested on February 19 of this year for Assault On Family Or Household Member-3rd Degree. He served seven days in jail but was released on a suspended sentence in that case,

Those two incarcerations bracketed three other arrests, two for drugs and one for contempt of court.

Blakeley was arrested back on August 3 for Contempt-willful disobedience (Failure to Pay Fine), Possession of Controlled Substance - Schedule I/II Felony, Possession of Controlled Substance - Schedule VI Misdemeanor, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia - Store or Conceal - Meth/Cocaine.

He was released from jail on October 24 credited with time served on the contempt charge and given suspended sentEnces on the three drug chrages.

That August arrest came on the heels of a Contempt-willful disobedience (Failure to Pay Fine) arrest in June after being arrested on a misdemeanor charge of Carrying a Weapon in April.

Arkansas Court Connect shows an arrest in May of Blakeley along with Kimberly Ann Blakeley, who also has an extensive arrest record, for Possession With Purpose of Delivery-Meth/Cocaine, Possession of Paraphernalia- Meth/Cocaine and Maintaining a Drug Premises.

Two weeks before the Assault on a Family Member in February, Blakeley was also arrested on the same weapons charge as well as to Failure to Pay Fines and Failure to Comply with a Court Order.
