In 2011, Robert Wayne Cox was a 57 year-old who lived in rural Havana, in Yell County.
He built himself a log cabin home and liked to tinker around with old cars. On Feb. 19, 2011, he left his house to take a walk around his property.
His wife saw him told investigators outside their home, but when she went to bring him back inside, Robert was gone. She stated she last saw him in a clear-cut area near his residence, but his family doubts that story, as they don't think he would have been physically capable of walking there due his mobility problems.
He wasn't been seen since.
There has been an ongoing investigation into his disappearance since that winter, Yell County day in 2011, and despite a number of leads that have developed over the years, investigators are not really any closer to figuring out the fate of Cox than they were almost eight years ago.
Cox had begun to develop health problems in the autumn of 2010; he was anxious and could not sit still. He began walking hunched over, unable to lift his head, with his chin resting on his chest.
By November he was unable to speak. He had upcoming tests scheduled to see whether he had dementia, but disappeared shortly before before the appointment time for the testing.
Fifty-seven at the time he went missing, Cox, if alive, would be 65-years old today. He was 5'10" and weighed 155 pounds when he disappeared and was said to be wearing a navy blue hooded sweatshirt, gray sweatpants and gray sneakers.
After all these years, Cox is still listed as "Endangered/Missing".
