Many have requested the incident report regarding the suspicious death of a 5-year-old on Jan. 11 and the subsequent felony welfare endangerment-1st arrest of Rae Von Smith thereafter. I have included the report here with redaction. The child was a 5-year-old boy. Due to the circumstances, a second 1-year-old child was removed from the home and placed into protective custody with DHS. The investigation is ongoing and being reviewed by medical examiners. That is all I can release for now regarding this specific incident, but more will be forthcoming when available.
