Officials in Johnson County arrested two Clarksville men on Wednesday and charged them with Murder in the First Degree in connection with the death of a Newton County resident in late September of last year.
Today in Fort Smith first told you about the discovery of a body in a field behind a Dollar General Store in Knoxville on September 23 that was identified by the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory three days later as being that of Noah Hampton, 20, of Newton County.
On Tuesday, the Arkansas State Police arrested James Trey Holt, 23, and Alan Cody Rice, 20, in the connection to the investigation of Hampton's death.
Officials suscpected foul play with the discovery of the body on September 23.
The Johnson County Sheriff's Office said the body was found at the intersection of Ash Street and Highway 64 in Knoxville near a brush pile in someone's back yard.
Both Holt and Rice remain jailed in the Johnson County Detention Center Wednesday evening on a no-bond hold.
