Inmate being held in Sebastian County for murder of toddler gets 12-years on related felony firearm

A 26-year-old inmate in the Sebastian County Detention Center on a $500,000 cash bond for First Degree Murder in the death of 20-month-old Kylah Mikel Woodard in January 2018 has a 12-year stint in the Arkansas Department of Corrections awaiting him despite the outcome of that pending murder trial.

Tyree La'mont Williams, who was the live-in boyfriend of Sierra Johnson, entered a guilty plea in late December of being a Felon in Possession of a Firearm and was sentenced to 144 months in the ADC as an habitual offender.

He still also faces a trial date in the murder of the toddler. Williams is listed on the AOC Inmate Roster Page as a "Sebastian County Waiting List" prisoner, which lists an initial parole eligible date of January 30. 2022.

Williams was already wanted on the hook for a previous felony drug conviction for which a Felony Failure to Appear warrant was issued after he skipped a court appearance in April of 2016.,

Williams and Sierra Johnson, the mother of the child, took Kyla to an area hospital in late January of 2018 where she was pronounced dead from injuries she sustained from abuse by Williams, according to local police.

Johnson, 21, is already in the custody of the ADC having been sentenced to 356 months (to run concurrently) in the McPhearson Unit in Newport on Possession of Drug Paraphernalia to Produce a Controlled Substance and Permitting Child Abuse charges after a plea deal last May.

She will also be on probation for ten years once she gets out, and it doesn't look like she'll have to wait very long to start that program. Incredibly, the ADC website lists her parole eligible date as December 2, 2019.

As you may recall, Johnson publicly defended and supported Williams during the initial investigation into Kyla's death.
