Meeting scheduled for citizens group that has arisen in opposition to Marshal Museum tax election

A new committee called Citizens Against Unfair Taxation is being launched in response to the proposed sales tax increase to fund the US Marshals Museum.

The organizers of the new group will be holding a meeting and cordially invite the citizens of Fort Smith to attend the first official gathering on Thursday, January 31, in the Community Room of the Fort Smith Public Library, located at 3201 Rogers Avenue.

The meeting will begin at 6:30 PM for an informal meet and greet and a time for socializing.

A panel discussion to address the wide variety of reasons to oppose the tax increase will commence at 7 PM. Panelists include City Director George Catsavis, former State Senator Frank Glidewell, and Joey McCutchen, among a few others.

Robbie Wilson will moderate the panel discussion and the Q&A session. This is a kid friendly and community oriented event — all are welcome to attend.

Please contact Robbie Wilson at 479-763-6252 for further details.
