For nearly 37-years the friends and family of Linda Louellen “Lindy” Reynolds have been trying to find her.
Reynolds was last seen on May 17, 1982, after she left a nightclub in Oklahoma. Sometime during the night, she (or someone else) returned her vehicle to her parents' Fort Smith home and left them a note stating she was staying with friends and would be home in time for work at 5:00 p.m.
She never arrived and has never been heard from again. She took no belongings with her, except for her purse, when she disappeared. Her parents reported her missing three days later.
She was just 30 years old. According to reports, Reynolds was a rock-band enthusiast that enjoyed frequenting bars that showcased rock bands.
.
Since her disappearance, police have followed every lead, reviewing pages and pages of case files in hopes of finding some shred of direction in the case.
Unfortunately, there isn’t much to go on. Reynolds’ dental records are on file at the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory in Little Rock, and DNA evidence collected from family members has yet to yield definitive results.
The club that Reynolds frequented was near the Oklahoma/Arkansas border and officials in both states have worked together over the years to piece together a picture of what might have happened the night she disappeared.
Like many cold cases, the leads have dried up and the club
has since closed.
Reynolds, like so many others, has simply vanished.
