A twenty-eight year old Fort Smith man remains behind bars in the Sebastian County Detention Center after a 3 a.m, arrested on Sunday on a Class D Felony Aggravated Assault on a Family or Household member charge .
Nicholas Shawn Chastain was booked into the SCDC at 4:16 a.m. on March 8 are remained in the lock-up at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
Chastain faces a no-bond hold on the charge and has first court appearance scheduled for March 12 at 1:30 p.m.
Class D felonies are the least serious felonies in Arkansas, punishable by up to six years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000.
