1970:
All public schools in Little Rock, North Little Rock and Pulaski County with large Negro enrollments began to observe "Negro History Week" with special assembly programs and other activities Monday through Friday. Coinciding with the observance was the visit to Little Rock of R.C. Owens, half of the "alley-oop" pass play he developed with Y.A. Tittle when both were playing professional football for the San Francisco '49ers.
