A Jacksonville, Florida man died on Monday as the result of a one-vehicle accident that occurred on State Highway 412 just east of Huntsville in Madison County.
According to the Arkansas State Police, 51-year-old Douglas Gordon Green was killed when the 2019 Volvo semi tractor-trailer he was driving eastbound on the state highway failed to negotiate a left-hand turn, ran of the roadway, struck a road sign and overturned.
Green was pronounced dead at the scene by the Madison County Coroners Office. The death of the Florida man is the state's 78th since the beginning of the year.
Reporting trooper Jeffery Ricketts reported the conditions were cloudy and the road was dry at the time of the accident.
