ASP releases report on fatal northwest Arkansas accident that killed teenage couple

Following a 48-hour delay pending notification of the next of kin, the Arkansas State Police published a report filed by the Fayetteville Police Department detail and accident on Monday in Fayetteville.

Police officials say nineteen-year-old Christopher Gutierrez and eighteen-year-old Atalaya Johnson perished in the crash when the 2007 Infiniti driven by Gutierrez left the roadway in a construction area and collided with a parked John Deere front-end loader that was parked adjacent to the roadway.

The accident occurred on North Old Wire Road just past the intersection with East Stewart Street in Fayetteville. The deaths represented the 143rd and 144th in the state this season in traffic related incidents.

The weather conditions were clear and the pavement was dry at the time of the wreck according to Fayyetteville patrol office Derek Harwood.
