ASP Report: Two-vehicle accident in rural Scott County claims 23-year-old Mansfield man



According to a report from the Arkansas State Police, a 23-year-old Mansfield resident was killed in a mid-day, two-vehicle accident of a rural stretch of US Highway 71 east of the Abbott community.


Christopher Ryan Pina was killed when the 2009 Nissan he was driving south on the highway went out of control, crossed the center line and spun into a northbound 1993 Jayco Eagle driven by Steven Albert Shelton, 37, also of Mansfield.


Shelton, his wife Amber (32) and two minor children were all transported to Mercy Hospital ib Fort Smith for treatment for injuries sustained in the collision.


ASP Trooper Tyler reported there was heavy rain and wet road conditions at the tine of the accident, which occcured at 12:44 p.m.
