Bentonville rapist of girl, 3, nets 46 years after conviction

A Bentonville man was convicted on Thursday, January 30th, of the rape of a 3-year-old girl in Northwest Arkansas.

Tristan Tiarks, 34, was arrested in January of 2019 after it was alleged that he had raped a girl, whom he cared for, while her mother went to the grocery store for less than an hour. The next morning, the minor child informed her mother that Tiarks choked her with a towel, gave medicine to her and was mean to her.

Doctors who examined the victim at the ER testified that her injuries were consistent with sexual assault and strangulation.

Tiarks was also charged with aggravated assault and domestic battery, on top of the rape charge, and was sentenced to a total of 46 years, with sentences to run concurrently.

It is estimated that Tiarks will spend 30 years behind bars.
