Bentonville woman arrested in Fort Smith facing possible parole revocation for charges
A Bentonville woman remains in jail this afternoon after a Sunday arrest that saw her rack up more than a half-dozen serious charges and earn a no-bond hold on top of $51,300 of signature and legally sufficient bonds on various drug and firearms violations.
Latisha Jaylene Smith, 45, who had a pair of almost identical drug convictions in Crawford County years ago and at one point ended up with a 72-month sentence among a plethora of suspended sentences and probation and an eventual revocation on a litany of felonies, was booked into the Sebastian County Detention Center at 1:01 p.m. Sunday.
Smith now faces seven new charges, including Possession of Controlled Substance - Schedule I/II Felony <2g, Obstructing Governmental Operations, Possession of Controlled Substance - Schedule VI Misdemeanor, Simultaneous Possession of Drugs and Firearms, Possession Of Firearm By Certain Persons,Possession of Methamphetamine <2gand Possession of Drug Paraphernalia - Ingest Meth/Cocaine. charges
In addition, a Parole Revocation hearing has been scheduled in light of those violations.
Smith's first court appearance has been docketed for March 11 and she is also scheduled to appear back in court on March 18.
