Centerton man, person of interest in 2009 Fort Smith murder, arrested in Benton County Sunday


Adam Kuettel, 36, of Centerton remains behind bars in the Benton County Detention Center on aggravated assault on a family or household member – felony; endangering the welfare of a minor – 1st degree, felony; criminal trespass - misdemeanor and disorderly conduct – misdemeanor.


Kuettel was arrested after officials received several calls that he was walking through the neighborhood with an assault-style rifle.


Witnesses claim that Kuettel was heavily intoxicated had been arguing with his fiance, and had grabbed his assault rifle to go and search for her.


Kuettel had only been engaged to his fiance for nine days, according to Facebook.

Adam Kuettel is no stranger to the criminal spotlight.


In 2009, Kuettel was considered a person of interest into the murder investigation of of Sarah Fennell of Fort Smith.


No charges were ever filed in that case and the officials cause of death has been listed as natural causes.
