Domestic battery arrest leads to parole violation charges for Pope County resident
An Ola man who was sentenced to two twelve months concurrent imprisonment in mid-December of 2019 as a Habitual Offender but is somehow out on the streets less than three months later may have a lot of "splaining" to do after his arrest over the weekend on Third-Degree Domestic Battering and Driving on Suspended/Revoked License, which apparently triggered a parole violation.
Randell Edward Alford, 24, of Ola was arrested by the Russellville Police Department on Saturday and booked into the Pope County Detention Center at 6 .m. Saturday afternoon. He remains jailed at 6:30 p.m. awaiting a bind hering on the charges.
Alford was arrested on a warrant for Possession of a Controlled Substance and Drug Paraphernalia on November 19, 2019. The case was closed on December 17n when Alford was sentenced as an Habitual Offender to the 12-months in prison with 36-months suspended imposition of sentence.
The Habitual Offender designation came from a case for similar crimes in July 2019 as well as as April arrest for Possession of and Drug Paraphernalia, Aggravated Assault and Felon in Possession of Firearms for which he drew probation and had a Revocation charge dismissed.
