Elkins awaits transfer to Arkansas Department of Corrections to start 40-year term





Eleven days after pleading guilty to the First Degree Murder of former Fort Smith educator William Dubois, Taylor Christina Elkins, 22, of Fort Smith remains incarcerated in the Sebastiaan County Detention Center awaiting transfer into the Arkansas Department of Corrections system.


Elkins is on the Sebastian County Waiting list for her pending assignment to an ACC facility. She has been entered into the inmate database for the ACC. She been in jail without bond since she was arrested in July for the crime which took place in early 2019.


Taylor plead guilty to the grisly myurder on January 16, doing do to acvoid life imprisonment on the charge. Elkins will have to serve at least 70% of her sentence (28 years) before she is eligible for parole.


Officials say Dubois was struck in the head with a hammer.
