Employee of child care development center on UofA campus arrested for rape of child
The Arkansas State Police Crimes Against Children Division is assisting an investigation in Washington County where an employee of a child development center has been arrested on two counts of Sexual Indecency with a Child and one count of Rape/Forcible Fondling of a child under the age of five.
Joseph C O’Neill, 31, an employee at the Jean Tyson Child Development Study Center was arrested mid-afternoon Wednesday He was later released on a $50,000 bond from the Washington County Detention Center. according to WCSO website.
The facility is located on the University of Arkansas campus and O'Neill was arrested by the University of Arkansas Police Department.
According to their website, the center is:
"A family-centered program housed in a facility designed to provide for best practices in early childhood education and to enhance the learning experience for university students.
Early childhood professionals meet the physical, social, emotional and cognitive needs of all children ages eight weeks to five years old.
