Engaged couple in Pope County fight their way into trouble with law enforcement




An engaged Pope County couple fought their way into s/jail earlier today and both will be battling a $1030 bond and future court date after an arrest for Third-Degree Domestic Battery, a Class A misdemeanor.


Kyle Edward Prince and Samantha Edwards, who are listed as engaged to each other on social media, were booked into the Pope County Detention at 3:22 and 3:24 p.m. respectively after throwing hands on Monday.


While Price lists an address in Hector, the social media for Edwards lists her as being from Muskegon, Michigan.


Domestic battering in the third degree is a Class A misdemeanor, punishable by up to a year in jail.


If the defendant knew or should have known that the victim was pregnant, or if the defendant has a previous domestic battering or aggravated assault conviction within the previous five years, the new offense is aClass D felony, punishable by up to six years in prison.


Both remained in jail as of 6 p.m. Monday afternoon.
