Fort Smith resident remains on no-bond hold after Wednesday arrest on child pornograhy charge


A 26-year-old Fort Smith resident was booked into the Sebastian County Detention Center on Wednesday afternoon and charged with one count of Computer Child Pornograpjy - Compiles according to booking information from the SCDC.


Tyler Loyd Akin, who has had several arrests in the past two years for misdmeanor contempt and failure to appear out of the Greenwood Lower District Court, was booked into the facility Wednesday afternoon at 4:53 p.m. and remains jailed on a no-bond hold on the Class B Felony.


Akin has two pevious arrested in the Greenwood Lower District on Domestic Battery charges in 2012 and 2015. When he was arrested at the age of eighteen, he caught four months in jail with 120 months suspended on two counts.


In 2015, Akin was found guilty of 1st Degree Battery and given 36 months in prison with an additional 84 months suspended.


Akin is due for his first ccourt appearance on the current charges on March 2 at 1:30 p.m.
