Franklin County man arrested for Aggravated Assault on Family or Household Member
A 42-year-old Altus man remained in police custody on Sunday following his arrest on Friday for Aggravated Assault on Family or Household Member and various other charges according to booking information from the Franklin County Detention Center.
Robert Nathan Krachey, of Altus, was booked into the FCDC at 2:56 p.m. on Friday. In addition to the Aggravated Assault count, Krachey is facing addition charges including First Degree Criminal Mischief, Interference With a Law Enforcement Official, and Fleeing charges as well as one county of Failure to Appear for missing a previous court date.
Krachey has had numerous felonies in the past and served state prison time.
According to the Affidavit for Warrant in the case, law enforcement officials were called to a residence in Franklin County where a female said she and Krachey had gotten into an argument and the suspect had been "punching her all morning". The woman claimed she was also choked and dragged by her hair.
The victim said she stepped outside to attempt to diffuse the situation and Krachey followed. At some point, according to an eyewitness, he took her phone and smashed it to the ground. When the victim called out to th eyewitness to call the police, Krachey warned her "not to" and fled the scene on foot in a north direction.
The officer said the victim had bruises, marks on her neck and scrapes on her back where she was thrown against some concrete steps.
Krachey has had numerous encounters with the police over the years, including arrests for Theft by Receiving, Residential Burglary, Theft of Property, Domestic Battery, Endangering the Welfare of a Minor, DWI, Fleeing, Battery and Manufacturing of a Controlled Substance.
He plead no contest to Theft by Receiving in November 2019 and was given 48-months probation.
