Friday head-on accident in Mena takes the lives of two Montgomery County women
Two Montgomery County women in their late-sixties died Friday afternoon as the result of a two car accident on Highway 8 East at Board Camp Road in Mena, according to the Arkansas State Police.
According to an ASP preliminary report, Deborah Jean Black, 68, and Roseanna Markhm, 69, both of Norman, were both killed when the 2016 Chrysler van driven by Markham struck a Ford F250 pick-up truck that was eastbound on State Highway 8.
Police say the truck, driven by 40-year-old Jeffrey Clayton Cude, crossed the center line and struk the van. Both women were pronounced dead at th scene and at least one minor in the Cude vehicle was taken to Arkansas Children's Hospital in Little Rock.
Trooper Benjamin Harrison noted the onditions were clear and theroad was dry at the time of the accident, which occurred at 6:22 p.m.
