A 41-year-old Green Forest woman died Sunday in a one-vehicle accident that occurred on Highway 62 west of Green Forest.
According to the Arkansas Highway Patrol, Sara Recopalchi-Hernand was a passendger in a 2004 Honda CRV that was eastbound along a rural stretch of Highway 62 and driven by Victor Alonzo-Castro, also of Green Forest.
The Honda left the roadway , struck a culvert and became submerged in standing water.
Alonzo-Castro, 54, and a second passenger, twenty-five-year-old Kimberly Barrios-Cifuentes, were taken to Mercy Hospital in Berryville and treated for their injuries.
The death of Recopalchi-Hernand marks the 30th Arkansas highway fatality in 2020.
