Haskell County domestic call turns into drug bust and arrest of a felon on three separate charges
A routice call to a residence in the Hoyt community in rural Haskell County has resulted in in a drug bust and the arrest of a felon for domestic abuse, firearms possession and drug charges according to the Haskell County Sheriff Office.
Haskell County deputies Kevin Kirk and Blake Wright responded to a physical domestic in progress in the Hoyt area on June 23. During the investigation Deputy Kirk observed enough physical evidence to arrest Manuel Fernandez in relation to domestic abuse in the presence of a minor child.
During the interview the deputies also received information from the victim about possible drugs use, which led to the incident.
Consent to search the residence was granted by the victim and four firearms were located along with approximately 9 grams of methamphetamine and marijuana.
The guns and drugs were seized from the residence and Fernandez was booked in on complaints of Domestic Abuse in the Presence of a Minor Child, Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Distribute, Possession of Firearm after Former Felony Conviction, and Possession of Firearm during Commission of a Felony.
