Pope County 28-year old facing $20,000 bond in domestic battering case over weekend

An arrest by the Pope County Sheriff Office landed a 28-year-old local man in jail with a $20,000 bond after he was booked into the Pope County Detention Center on Second Degree Battering charges on Saturday. He also was tagged with a Felony Failure to Appear charge.

Ronald Steven McCreary of Russellville was booked into the PD/CDC at 9:14 a.m. Saturday morning and has remained incarcerated. He was still in jail as of 6:50 p.m. on Monday.

McCreary has received a Suspended Imposition of Sentence after a negotiated guilty plea in June of last year for First Degree Criminal Mischief, Leaving the Scene of an Accident and DWI charges.

As of publication of this story no court date had been listed on the new charges.
