A Sallisaw woman faces a June 3 hearing to answer charges of second-degree murder in the shooting of Vernon Plummer, 44, on March 23 at a residence in Sallisaw
Nicole Marie Jordan, 32, has entered a not guilty plea and remains jailed with a $150,000 bond.
Police responded to the residence just before 4 p.m. on he day of the shooting. Jordan, told police said she shot her ex-husband twice and was hiding in the woods behind her residence. Officials later located suspects at her fathers house just down the road from where the incident occurred.
Jordan agreed to talk with the investigators and said Plummer had come into her home around 5 a.m. and woke her up. A little later that morning, an argument ensued between the divorced couple over a domestic situation, and Jordan claimed she had been assaulted
and threatened during the encounter. Sometime during the incident a gun came into play and Jordan shot Plummer once
Authorities say a second shot was fired after thee intial incident and Plummer died at the scene.
