Pregnant mother of two went missing in 2002 from home in Nicholson, Mississippi

On June 22, 2002, 24-year-old mother of two Erin M. Davis (also known as Erin Hover-Davis) ) was dropped off by her sister-in-law at her home on Harry Street in Nicholson, Mississippi.

The next day, her sister-in-law came over and found the door open and Davis's two children, aged two and four, home alone.

She left her purse behind and has never been heard from again.

The investigation in her disappearance reveled that she was seven months pregnant at the time of her disappearance.

The case remains one of the top cold cases in the state of Mississippi, with numerous investigators have stating that they have very few tips over the years and that the almost eighteen years that have passed have rendered few clues in the disappearance of the young mother.

In early 2019, investigators with the Pearl River County Sheriff’s Department received additional information about the case, prompting them to request a cadaver dog from the Harrison County Sheriff’s Department to search an area off of Henleyfield McNeill Road near a creek that runs though the area.

Officials said the dog alerted to the presence of remains in two locations 75 feet apart within that area on two different occasions, prompting the investigative team to request the assistance of the Medical Examiner’s office and the University of Southern Mississippi’s Anthropology Department.

No remains were found and investigators said the area was flooded two or three times per year. Despite the information that lead them to the area, they found nothing useful to further the investigation.

Davis had blonde hair and brown eyes and has a tattoo of a rose on her left shoulder.

She was 5'2" and weighed approximately 130 pounds when she went missing

If you have any information concerning this case, you are asked to contact the Pearl River County Sheriff's Department at 601-795-2241.
