Who is responsible for the 1995 death of Kentucky cured ham mogul?

Harper's County Hams in Clinton, Kentucky was a family owned and operated business and in September of 1995, Curtis Samuel Harper was finishing out the day at the meat processing plant that had grown to be revered nationwide for their cured hams.

On September 14, someone robbed and murdered Harper in the office of the plant. Harper was beaten violently and possibly robbed of his cash box and other monies from the business office.

Despite extensive investigations and hundreds of hours of following leads, police have officially called the murder a cold case and say unless new information is developed that the killing will never be solved.

Kentucky State Police are asking anyone with information regarding the murder of Curtis S. Harper to call 270-856-3721contact: TFC Jay Thomas at or email him at Dennis.Thomas@ky.gov.
