Oklahoma State Cowboys, Tulsa Golden Hurricane agree to 11-game football series



Oklahoma State and Tulsa will travel down the turnpike to face each other in 11 of the next 13 seasons.


The deal between the two programs will be announced Friday morning.


The Bank of Oklahoma “Turnpike Classic” will start in 2024 in Tulsa at H.A. Chapman Stadium and come to Stillwater at Boone Pickens Stadium in odd years.


The series is currently 40-27-5 in favor of the Cowboys and they’ve won the last six matchups against the Golden Hurricane, including the last one 59-24 in 2017 in Stillwater. Tulsa’s last win over the Cowboys came in 1998 with a 35-20 victory. The Golden Hurricane haven’t won in Stillwater since 1951, with a 35-7 win.


OSU and TU will play the next three consecutive seasons, starting next season in Tulsa then the series shifts to Stillwater for 2020 and 2021 before a three year break.
